Reputation Shield
Sender reputation (Google Postmaster)
Gmail and Google Workspace sender metrics (domain reputation, spam rate, authentication, and compliance) synced into SenderSignal.
Why this exists
Google Postmaster Tools shows how Gmail treats your mail: but it lives in a separate Google property most teams check inconsistently. SenderSignal pulls the same official Google data into the Sender Reputation tab on each domain so reputation sits next to blacklists and deliverability.
One-time setup
- Open a monitored domain asset (root domain or subdomain that sends to Gmail).
- Go to the Sender Reputation tab.
- Follow the guided linking flow:
- Confirm the domain in Google Postmaster Tools (DNS TXT verification)
- Authorize SenderSignal to read Postmaster metrics for your workspace
- After linking, SenderSignal syncs on a schedule (typically every few hours). Manual Refresh triggers an immediate sync.
Setup is per domain in Postmaster. Subdomains may inherit or require separate registration depending on how Google grouped them: the UI guides you through the correct domain string.
What you see (Sender Reputation tab)
- Domain reputation: High / Medium / Low / Bad daily category from Google
- IP reputation: when Google publishes IP-level categories for your traffic
- User-reported spam rate: percentage of users who marked mail as spam
- Charts and tables with selectable date ranges (7–120 days)
Google Postmaster Tools (compliance dashboard)
A secondary view covers Gmail sender compliance requirements:
- Compliance status (requirements met vs needs work)
- Authentication pass rates (SPF, DKIM, DMARC over authenticated traffic)
- Encryption (TLS inbound/outbound)
- Delivery errors
- Feedback Loop spam rates
Linked vs not linked
- Not linked: domain not verified in Postmaster or not yet synced; tab shows setup instructions
- Syncing: background job fetching latest Google data (usually completes within a minute)
- Linked: charts populated; last sync time shown
Alerts
Configure Postmaster-based alerts under Alerts:
- Domain or IP reputation change (e.g. High → Medium)
- Compliance status change
- Spam rate crossing elevated thresholds
Plan requirement
Google Postmaster integration is included on plans that list Sender Reputation / Postmaster in your subscription. Without it, the tab shows upgrade guidance.
