SendGrid sends the mail. Your domain still has to earn the inbox.
SendGrid can warm a dedicated IP for you automatically, but its warmup docs deal with IP reputation, not with a new sending domain. Keep your campaigns and API sends exactly where they are. Add your brand domain here and we build its reputation while SendGrid keeps sending.
Keep sending from SendGrid. Warm the domain here.
Authenticate your domain in SendGrid
SendGrid calls domain authentication a fundamental step. Until you do it, mail shows “via sendgrid.net” after your From address. With automated security on, SendGrid generates CNAME records for DKIM and the return path, plus a DMARC record. Subdomains do not inherit authentication, so each sending domain needs its own records.
Know what SendGrid warms, and what it does not
On a dedicated IP, automated warmup caps the traffic through the new IP and sends the overflow over your other warm IPs. On Free and Essentials plans you share pools that SendGrid groups by engagement. The warmup docs address IP reputation only; a new sending domain is not part of it.
Add your brand domain to Inbox Boost
Use the domain in your From address, such as yourbrand.com. The return-path subdomain SendGrid sets up on it stays with SendGrid. We set up what the domain needs and build its sender reputation for you. Nothing to connect to SendGrid: no API key, no app, no change to your account.
Keep every campaign and API send running in SendGrid
Marketing Campaigns, API and SMTP mail: all of it stays in SendGrid. Mailbox providers score the domain in your From address, so the reputation built here counts for every SendGrid send from yourbrand.com.
Check where SendGrid mail lands
Inbox placement tests show whether your mail reaches Primary, Promotions or Spam across the major mailbox providers, and blacklist monitoring keeps watching the domain once it is warm.
- Nothing to connect: no SendGrid API key, app or integration
- Nothing to change: API calls, SMTP settings and campaigns stay exactly as they are
- Shared or dedicated IP: it works either way, because the reputation belongs to the domain
- Watched after warmup: blacklist and authentication monitoring on your brand domain
