The Woodpecker playbook

Woodpecker runs the follow-ups. Your domain still has to earn the inbox.

Woodpecker starts each send from its servers, but your mailbox provider’s IPs deliver it, and warm-up comes from its partners Mailivery and Warmy. The domain your mailboxes share carries a reputation of its own. Keep every campaign where it is. Add the domain here and we build its reputation while Woodpecker keeps sending.

The Woodpecker playbook

Keep sending from Woodpecker. Warm the domain here.

Step 1

Connect and authenticate your mailboxes

Google and Outlook connect with one click; anything else connects with SMTP for sending and IMAP for replies. Woodpecker’s Domain Check-up looks at SPF, DKIM and domain age when you connect. DMARC is not part of it, and Gmail and Outlook expect it from bulk senders, so publish one at your domain too.

Step 2

Know what Woodpecker’s warm-up does

Warm-up runs through Woodpecker’s partners Mailivery and Warmy, which start with a few emails a day and raise volume gradually, mailbox by mailbox. Woodpecker advises against running campaigns and warm-up at the same time, because warm-up emails count toward your provider’s sending quotas.

Step 3

Add your sending domain to Inbox Boost

Add the domain your mailboxes send as, the one in your From address, such as outreach.yourbrand.com, and we build its sender reputation for you. Nothing to connect: no API key, no app, no mailbox sign-in, no change to your Woodpecker account.

Step 4

Keep every campaign running in Woodpecker

Campaigns, follow-ups and Adaptive Sending stay in Woodpecker, which says not to send more than 100 messages a day from a mailbox even when your provider allows more. Mailbox providers score the domain in your From address, so the reputation built here counts for every mailbox sending as outreach.yourbrand.com.

Step 5

Check where Woodpecker mail lands

Woodpecker’s own deliverability tests check SPF and DKIM on active campaigns. Inbox placement tests show whether the emails reach Primary, Promotions or Spam across the major mailbox providers, and blacklist monitoring keeps watching the domain once it is warm.

  • Nothing to connect: no Woodpecker API key, app, integration or mailbox sign-in
  • Nothing to change: campaigns, mailboxes and warm-up settings stay exactly as they are
  • Every mailbox on the domain: the reputation belongs to the domain, so it counts for each mailbox sending from it
  • Watched after warmup: blacklist and authentication monitoring on your sending domain

Questions

Woodpecker questions, answered.

Does Inbox Boost connect to my Woodpecker account or mailboxes?
No. There is no API key, app or integration to install, and nothing signs in to your Google or Microsoft mailboxes. Inbox Boost works on the sending domain, and Woodpecker keeps sending your campaigns exactly as it does now.
Woodpecker has warm-up. Why warm the domain too?
Woodpecker’s warm-up partners work on each connected mailbox. Mailbox providers also score the domain those mailboxes share, and Inbox Boost works on that domain itself. Nothing in your Woodpecker warm-up settings has to change.
Do I need DMARC if the Domain Check-up passes?
If you send in volume, yes. The Domain Check-up looks at SPF, DKIM and domain age. Gmail requires DMARC, aligned with SPF or DKIM, from bulk senders, and Outlook requires it from high-volume senders to Outlook.com addresses. Publish it at your domain alongside the records from your mailbox provider.
Which domain do I add to Inbox Boost?
Your sending domain: the one your Google, Microsoft or SMTP mailboxes send as, the domain in your From address, such as outreach.yourbrand.com. Mailbox providers score that domain, not only the address, so the reputation built here counts for every mailbox sending as it.
Can I see whether it is working?
Yes. Inbox placement tests show where your Woodpecker campaign emails land, Primary, Promotions or Spam, across the major mailbox providers, and blacklist monitoring keeps watching the domain afterwards.
