The Shopify playbook

Shopify sends the order mail. Your domain still has to earn the inbox.

Shopify delivers your notifications and campaigns from its own infrastructure, publishes warm-up guidance and applies safe send limits that rise with your sender reputation. The reputation itself is still yours to build. Keep your store exactly as it is. Add the domain here and we build its reputation while Shopify keeps sending.

The Shopify playbook

Keep sending from Shopify. Warm the domain here.

Step 1

Authenticate your sender domain in Shopify

In Settings > Notifications, add every CNAME record Shopify shows for your sender email; they cover DKIM and SPF. Until you do, Shopify rewrites the sender to a shopifyemail.com address. Automatic authentication does not add DMARC, which Gmail and Yahoo require, so publish a single DMARC record yourself.

Step 2

Know what Shopify does for reputation, and what it does not

Shopify publishes sending volume and warm-up guidance, and Shopify Messaging applies safe send limits to campaigns that rise as your sender reputation improves. The pacing is left to you, and Shopify says reputation does not transfer when you move campaigns in from another platform.

Step 3

Add your brand domain to Inbox Boost

Use the domain in your From address, yourstore.com. The CNAME records Shopify has you add stay with Shopify. We set up what it needs and build its sender reputation. Nothing to connect to Shopify: no API key, no app, no change to your store.

Step 4

Keep order mail and campaigns running in Shopify

Order confirmations, shipping updates, Shopify Messaging campaigns: all of it stays in Shopify. Mailbox providers score the domain in your From address, so the reputation built here counts for every Shopify send from yourstore.com.

Step 5

Check where Shopify mail lands

Inbox placement tests show whether your order mail and campaigns reach Primary, Promotions or Spam across the major mailbox providers, and blacklist monitoring keeps watching the domain once it is warm.

  • Nothing to connect: no Shopify app, API key or store access
  • Nothing to change: notifications, templates and campaigns stay exactly as they are
  • Order mail and marketing: one domain, so one reputation works for both
  • Watched after warmup: blacklist and authentication monitoring on your brand domain
See it play out

A Shopify domain, warmed without pausing a single send.

Four checkpoints, in order. Click any step or let it play.

Questions

Shopify questions, answered.

Does Inbox Boost connect to my Shopify store?
No. There is no app, API key or integration to install. Inbox Boost works on your brand domain, and Shopify keeps sending your notifications and campaigns exactly as it does now.
Shopify has warm-up guidance and send limits. Why warm the domain too?
Shopify’s guidance tells you how to pace campaigns, and its safe send limits rise as your sender reputation improves. Neither builds that reputation for you: Shopify offers no automated warm-up, and your domain carries its own reputation with Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo. That is what we build.
Do order confirmations benefit, or only campaigns?
Both. Order and shipping notifications go out from the same sender email as your Shopify Messaging campaigns. Mailbox providers score the domain in your From address, so the reputation built here counts for every Shopify send from yourstore.com.
I am moving my campaigns to Shopify Messaging. Does my reputation come with me?
Shopify’s own guidance says sender reputation does not transfer when you switch from another platform, and recommends warming up again from your most engaged subscribers. Add your brand domain here before the move and its reputation builds while you switch.
Can I see whether it is working?
Yes. Inbox placement tests show where your Shopify mail lands, Primary, Promotions or Spam, across the major mailbox providers, and blacklist monitoring keeps watching the domain afterwards.
